@ triddy

I think danish sounds 'sloppier' so to speak, they sound like they're drunk all the time

German and swedish have a 'cleaner' sound :)

Apologies to any danes here

And yes german was quite popular in Sweden at some periods during history, as was french at other periods.

Not English beer or what they call ''real ale'' here. It's strong and dark and the texture is like drinking fruitcake. Oh and it's usually served warm or at room temperature :r Personally I prefer a tube of the amber nectar (ask Fish  ) served so cold it shatters the enamel of your teeth.

anyway the sportswoman picture is not reaaaaaally me (I bet you didn't guess that!) Sadly, I look more like her on the left:

But when I grow up, I want to look like her ..............Image

Anyway getting back to linguistic questions. I also learned some Brasilian Portuguse. Brasil is much larger population than Portugal and makes many more TV programs. Most people think the difference is like between American (or Canadian) English and British English. They are shown on Portuguese TV. Many people in Portugal are so snobbish about their language that they ask for subtitles to be displayed in Portuguese! There are some grammatical and vocabulary differences, but Brasilian Portuguese is a much more informal and musical sounding intonation. To annoy someone in Portugal say ''Ola!'' to say hello instead of ''Bom dia'' and ''Ciao'' instead of ''Boa tarde'' etc

That reminds me of this Asterix-film, where they are in Britain, to support their celtic brothers over there. They where forced to drink warm "serveza" and there where no wild pigs, so Obelix was starving all the time. I guess the English cuisine hasn't changed much since then, hm?

BTW: Anyone here who loves Sauerkraut? (I made the Sauerkraut-test with my Danish daughter, it was a disaster :?)

A nation whose non-symmetrical ears mean they have to wear hats like this, shouldn't be so quick to point out other's shortcomings :P

This response is a little late seeing as I made this thread last year (har har ) but thank you sooo much triddy for digging it up. And to droopy for typing it up! I don't care if it's perfect or not, it's still a great tool for me.
Now I'm off to watch the film and put this puppy to use.
Big thanks!

You've inspired me.Image

It's been a paticularly boring day today. I've had a few searches for new(ish) Alex and Beck stuff, then stuff on anyone else from FÅ, then pretty much anyone who looked interesting. Result.....nothing...zilch...zippo.

It's now 7:00 pm here and I think I too should go and watch Fucking Åmål. :D
Thanks for the inspiration. *:)*

Bastard Eniro.se has now reduced its photo collection of Alex to 18 (was 25 a few weeks ago) and some of those are irrelevant.
