This is part of an ongoing multimedia fanfiction, involving narrative, song lyrics, artwork, and youtube clips between Dave (varamiglite), Mack, and me on the LTROI wtf site based on John Ajvide Lindquists fourth novel ''Little Star'' . This is my first post. I just saw SML for the first time a few days ago on Netflix. I'm still reeling. My life will never be the same. I'm dreaming about Elin and Agnes every night and their faces pop up in hynagogic images as I drift off. I feel like I've known them all my life, like they're childhood friends or something. What a powerful film. But I'm sure you all know that...

Anyway, in one dream, Elin and Agnes were in an Olympic Event. The event was "buying fast food." They had to enter a McDonald's, get their order and exit as fast as possible. They were at a disadvantage because they didn't have a car and couldn't use the drive through. They got all pissed off and started shouting obscenities. A boy from their school won.

The reaction you have experienced has been felt by many others on this site. If you are having dreams at this stage, it is a sure sign you are hooked Fortunately as the flood of emotion abates, you are still left with a wonderful warmth renewed each time you see the film or think about it, even. "buying fast food." yup we have wierd dreams like that. Have you seen the film 'Water Lilies' ? French, sort of essential viewing if you like FA/SML. There is a McDonald's in that. Sometimes I get crossover story dreams.

FA/SML is indeed a powerful film, there are only a few others in its league for me - Water Lilies [Naissance des Pieuvres], Let The Right One In, and Monster, in descending order of darkness

("L'Effrontée", the young Charlotte Gainsbourg's debut, is well worth a look too, though I could only find a horrible YouTube version)
