Gorgeous indeed. I love the eye contact between them. It may be my favorite photo of them ever. *:)* I wonder how the author got it?

And it makes me wonder how many other publicity shots we've never seen.

I bought the book, I'm in the middle of reading it now.

A little word of caution: Amazon lists it as having a bit over 200 pages, but about a third of that consists of references.

The book is a bit of a mixed bag. There's lots of interesting analysis of some specific scenes but it covers only about 40% of the book's non-references material. Moreover, the evil little economist in me shudders every time the author mentions "heteronormative", "queer" or "patriarchal". It's the second chapter that mostly deals with the kind of stuff a fan would be interested in. The third chapter is more about Swedish/Nordic film industry in general at the turn of the millennium with passing references to FÅ. The fourth chapter is about Moodysson's other movies.

This is a semi-academic book so obviously it's got stuff that hardcore fans of the movie (probably a considerable proportion of those who end up buying the book) are bound to find uninteresting. Considering the price, the book is a disappointment but objectively speaking it's not a bad book. I'm glad I bought it but I wish I did not have to spend nearly 30€ on it. (It's probably not gonna get very cheap because of the low supply.)

Sounds like the ol' thesis padded out to a book trick.
