It's a nice monument but I'd find moving it to Åmål somewhat weird as the song Shoreline came to be some years after FÅ and Broder Daniel's public breakthrough. If this sculpture had instead referred to Whrilwind, I'll Be Gone or Underground then it perhaps would've made more sense but this seems just a tad bit far-fetched.

Far fetched and weird are a couple of my favourite things. :T

I wasn't aware of the timeline for this I'm afraid, I think I just got carried away with the thought of a Fucking Åmål memorial.
Especially one actually in Åmål.
Think of all the extra money in tourist revenue. $$$$$$$$ *:)*

I'm with you so far that they should have a big FÅ monument in some form both in Åmål and Trollhättan. And everywhere else for that matter. ;-)

Henrik Berggren manically rewrites album

Published 16:15, 3 Jun 2018

With Brother Daniel, he was premiered to be elected to the Swedish Music Hall of Fame. But for Henrik Berggren it's more important to make new music. - I write manically. I've never been with it, he says.

The fact that Brother Daniel was invited to the Swedish Music Hall of Fame surprised many, including the band themselves. To Göteborg Direkt, Henrik Berggren said: - It ruins my idea of us as spotless of prizes and awards. But, yes, I'm fond of appreciation and recognition. I do not mind it or feel indifferent to what people think.

But he chose not to go to the ceremony a week ago. For two reasons. Partly because of its disease, diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome since five years back. Partly because he is in a creative period.

- I write music manically all day long. I do not have time to eat. I've never been with it, but I'm enjoying it, he says. "Creativity I think is about to do my illness. But it is less demanding with something like that.

The plan is that he will take his music to the producer Charles Storm's studio at Hisingen, who also produced Henrik Berggren's first solo album "Wolf's Heart", which came last year.

- If I have any schedule ...? No, I do not need it.

Last year, Henrik Berggren made several celebrated gigs - from the record release at Pustervik in early May, Liseberg this summer and to Lisebergshallen this autumn.

"Chronic fatigue syndrome" is very nasty.
I hope Henrik is able to manage it and that it doesn't interfere too much with his creative work with BD.

Kommande Broder Daniel-dokumentären – se inledningen

by/ Sara Karlsson, Daniel Horn Photo / Tobias Bauer

This year it is ten years since the iconic Gothenburg band, Brother Daniel , played his farewell concert at Way Out West in Slottsskogen, after the guitarist Anders Göthberg's tragic suicide. The band that had its breakthrough in the 90's is far from forgotten and still the lack of fans is great.

In 2014, Amelia Trask (director) and Sascha Hecht (producer) got the news about the band. Both had long worked in the music industry but never heard of Brother Daniel. They were immediately attributed to the group's special aura and their dedicated team of fans. Duon soon got the feeling that there was more to Brother Daniel's history than previously mentioned. They decided to begin investigating what really happened to this Swedish cult band that had such a strong cultural impact.

They wanted to create a new kind of documentary about the legendary band where they personally capture a perspective from the inside. The title of the movie could be I'll Be Gone after one of Brother Daniel's songs.
The film makers contacted the front man Henrik Berggren , but when diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome they realized that the disease had affected his memory. Five other people, each with their unique link to Berggren, helped to paint a new picture of events and question what had previously been facts about the group.

Currently, the film is in a post production. Trask and Hecht are looking for contributions through kickstarter to complete the project and released a few more clips from the documentary a few hours ago.
In this just over three minutes long clip you will see the documentary's introduction.

I suppose in the last 20 - 30 years many things have happened to the band and its members, but it seems to me that Broder Daniel has had more than its fair share of ill fortune. :(

Should make for an interesting film however, and the music should be excellent.
I'd love the chance to see it.

It's a pity the crowdfunding is likely to fall well short of its target with only $3½K of the $70K target pledged, and only 3 weeks left to raise funds for the project.
Still, I'll look back in another couple of weeks and if I think it has a chance I'll consider donating a slice of the Fish Fortune.

Never used "Kickstarter" before though.
Anyone aware of their track record? :?

I wonder how big were these guys back in their heyday in Sweden. They must have got a lot of attention cause of FA success. Looking at some concert footage of them, they seem to be able to pull in a large crowd, mostly of teenage girls. I said it earlier in this thread that the band's song are my favorite thing above anything else in the soundtrack, the first things that stood out for me when watching this film was Rebecka, the ending and Border Daniel music (although it took me until I found IMDB to find out the bands name).

Sadly the film won't be made as the crowdfunding finished with less than 20% of the target.
Everyone has their $'s refunded and the whole project gets cancelled. *:|*
