That's certainly true, and Lilya was almost certainly based on the experiences of those girls.

An example of another "based on the life of" film is the 1981 German film "Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo", released as "Christiane F" in many countries.
Possibly the most horrific film I've ever seen.
Think of Lilya with the addition of heroin.

But unless it's an actual biography it still falls under the definition of "fiction".

We seem to be arguing semantics Santi.
We should just enjoy whatever we enjoy and not worry too much about definitions in another language. *:)*

Awesome film, but a tough watch. Also a David Bowie live performance and soundtrack to boot. The real life Christiane F actually became a celebrity cause of the book and film, sadly she's still a user to this day and has a grown son I believe. She's pretty ill the last time i read. The film for the first 1hr is grand, just about a young teenager befriending new friends then the last 50 minutes or so is where the addiction and bleakness kicks in. It's the same with Lilya, once her mother dumps her that's when the film hits bleak street. Before that it's a fun film.

Yes.
Certainly a very tough watch, but one of those things I just had to do.

The Bowie concert was good.
Babsi was tragic.

I have the DVD, I'll probably watch it again some day.
