Alex, did you hear the lyrics that Jessica wrote on your door?

This is probably not as romantic as one might think having only read the first part. The the whole scribble reads “Om du blir kär passa dej för dom här:” meaning something like “If you fall in love then keep away from these:” referring to what looks like a couple of sperm cells doodled on the same sheet of paper.

Lukas’ audio commentary revealed to us that the people who played Elin’s gang of friends in school (Camilla, Malin, Jenny, Sara and Sabina I guess) actually were the ones who decorated Elin and Jessica’s room, supervised by Lukas. One of them were most likely responsible for that. :-)

I love the idea that Lukas had that much faith in the young people that he would get them to decorate.
So much better than leaving it to the "suits". *:)*

Just because I’m not entirely sure of which text you are talking about, let’s visually break down all the readable Swedish text (and doodles that could be mistaken for text) around that shot:

“Planka” literary means “plank” but you can also use it as a slang expression, in which case planka either means getting in somewhere without paying entrance or to copy something or somebody. Neither usage makes much sense here so I’m a bit puzzled as to what the intention was writing that.

I should also point out that the lowermost text (lime green box) could also be translated to “A friend like you would/should...” depending on what the rest of the sentence is.

He seemed on the contrary to have been more hands-on with Agnes’ room for example, being very cautious about what things to put up on the walls and such. Not that he was solely responsible for how the room ended up being but still. The teens could have given him some decisive input there as well, we just don’t know about it.

And as long as we keep the spirit alive and stick together as a community we’ll continue finding new things. I have a bunch of small mysteries all of which I’d like to bring up here at some point. :-)

I think that Agnes is the girl who knows what she wants and for this her room is well prepared.

Perhaps Lukas wanted to show Elin like a messy and immature woman and for that he left them free way without control to decorate the room of Elin.

I think you're mostly right in that analysis. One thought I used to have was that because Elin and Jessica both start off as being relatively popular in school, they should be somewhat inclined to want to fit in. If Elin is part of a small gang in her class there would thus be a point in letting the people who she’s supposed to hang out with have something to say about the scenery of her room. Within the film Elin and Jessica of course have decorated their own room, but this helps give us a small impression that the stuff plastered everywhere more reflects their (and Elin’s especially) outer roles that’s partly brought upon them rather than their inner personalities. Lukas himself briefly points out that Elin acts in a different way when Jessica is not around and I’d say that this also is pretty noticeable whenever her gang of girls is not around.

This happens to all of us. According with who I talk, I behave myself one way or another. :Y

I'll need to think more about this.

Elin strikes me as a very impulsive person.
Jessica reads the lables on each packet of "drugs" that Elin wants to try.
Elin just tries them without even thinking what they are.
Funny scene but with serious undertones I think.

And I think that with the many boys that she tasted, he tried them without looking at the label. 8)

These sound like the kind of "small mysteries" we'd all love to see. *:)* :D

Exactly.
