I wish I could go to England or anywhere in Europe but I don't have any money or time since I'm always in school. But thank you anyway.

i'm coming back to my forum-meeting-idea! is anyone still interested in it? (it doesn't have to be in amal. we could also look which is the nearest place for everyone of us, but of course amal would be more "poetic" =)

so...?

A movie that is kinda similar to Fucking Amal is High Art with Ally Sheedy and Radha Mitchell. Incidentally it was also shot in 1998. Oh and it's also very, very good. :)

thanks! i'll download it and i hope it REALLY is good
i just saw "My Summer of Love" and it really, really, really SUCKS!!!!!! it's so suckish i'd rather watch teletubbies..... actually no cause there's girls kissing in MSoL but it's still quite bad, you don't really come to care about the characters..... it may just be my opinion but i found quite a horrible film to watch

I haven't seen My summer of Love so I can't say anything about that. Though I was planning to watch it... :/

POSSIBLE SPOILER FOR "HIGH ART" FOLLOWS

Anyway, I stand by my point that High Art is in fact high art. Don't expect a movie just like FÅ though. This isn't about teenage love.
It's about two grown-up women, photography and some quite kaput characters. And it doesn't come with a happyend. (No gratuitous sex-scenes either.) But most of all it's about love and finding out who you are.

I just saw "Lost and delirious".
Worst clichee loaded, pathetic, stupid shit I've ever seen.
ALL of the girls in this movie have parents that are either dead or uncaring or the girl is adopted. The only lesbian turns out to be a freaking psycho.
So even George Bush could go out of the "Lost and Delirious"-movie with that warm fuzzy feeling in his stomach that the "evil" has been rooted out in the end.
The complete movie is a typical hollywood-fake that uses a provocative theme (of lesbian love) for showing off morals that are never questioned within the movie. And starry eyed crying/hugging scenes give the emotional touch.

It doesn't deserve to be named in the context of FA actually. So this is more of a warning.
I would be surprised if "My summer of love" can topple that. :?

you should at least say "in my opinion", don't just 'tell' us how it is, tell us what your opinion is by all means, but that makes it sound like you are dictating what we should feel. I happened to enjoy FÅ and Lost and Delirious, despite what your opinion is...

FYI, the world is tired of happy endings, it doesn't always have to be a happy ending to be good.

Um, saying that there isn't a happy ending is hardly telling the end, is it?
If you had seen the movie, that I pointed you to, you'd know that I wasn't giving away much here.

Narcissus wrote:you should at least say "in my opinion"

WTF? Sure it's my opinion. What else should it be?

Narcissus wrote:FYI, the world is tired of happy endings, it doesn't always have to be a happy ending to be good.

Yeah, but I wasn't saying anywhere that an unhappy ending was a negative point. It's not.
