A warning for any spanish viewer and a question for Russians

Postby Spain_1 » Tue Jul 04, 2006 2:53 pm

If there's any Spanish viewer, I would like to warn him or her, and give my opinion about subtitles translation into Spanish........crap or bullshit I'm not sure.

I never saw a worse translation, censorship is all over the film, changing "fucking cool" for "we're so well", "We're going to fuck" for "we're going to make love", "this fucking Amal" for "this village"......and so on all over.
It changes the whole spirit of the film and makes one of the best virtues of the film, real talking, into a handicap.

I don't recommend at all the Spanish subbed version. Must prefer in any case the english one.

In return, for those who do not understand english, the doubled version is quite fine, much better than the other, a pity that actors seem a bit older and give a taste less childish to their performances.

I also wanted to make a question to anybody who has viewed both, English and Russian versions, doubled and subtitled. I want to make see this film to all my Russian friends, who does not speak english, but I'm scared of the Russian versions. In general they are horrible. Russian people usually doesn't like films from another countrys and that's not a surprise when we see how they are translated. If you have a different actor for each character in the doubled version you can consider it a great effort.
Can anybody tell me about the quality of these versions?????????????

thanks.

Hi Spain_1! I am Russian.
Why you think the Russian versions of films from another countrys are horrible? It not true. The other way, many Russian people wants to see only foreign films and it is problem for Russian movies.
Of course if you buy piratic film it wouldn't be high-quality and good translation. But if you buy film in spesial market it would be excellent.
I saw not piratic Russian version of "Fucking Amal" - It's sufficiently good.

Best regards

Hey!, first of all, thanks for your answer.

Sorry if I bothered you, this was not my intention.....

I'm married with a Russian girl and I speak some Russian........not as much as I would like  ....it's a wonderful language, so rich. I've bought some Pushkin's that will wait for me till I'll be able to fight with them.......For me it's a kind of dream to read Gogol, Pushkin, Lermontov, BOULGAKOV (what a writer) in their original language.

I don't know if I have a bad image from Russian double acting, maybe I'm wrong, but what I've seen till this moment has not a great level, in cinema or tv. And I find this pretty normal, the country has been closed too many years to stranger's distribution and the art has not got the time to develop.
And I don't say that as something bad, in the USA this art nearly does not exist, and it's normal because the most of the films seen in their own distribution marken are English spoken.

One of my favorite films of all times is the great Kind Dza Dza, have you got something to recommend spetially?, I discuss with my wife a lot of times about the films she would like to make me see........ :?:

Don't be angry at me

Sorry if I looked angry.
I'm very happy that you like "Kind Dza Dza". It's a great film.

I can to recommend you these films:
- "Brat" (The brother) - NOT "Brat-2"!
- "Syostry" (Sisters)
- "Sobach'e serdce" (Dog heart)
These are not new but I hope you would like these films.

Convey greetings from Russia to wife :D
Best regards
