Characters Rebecka should have played

Postby Larsen » Fri Nov 20, 2009 11:20 am

I would find it interesting to discuss which roles Rebecka should / could have played or could play (besides the Lesbian Vampire Queen).

My first suggestion is Rebecka as Terminatrix in "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" (although Summer Glau (or whatever her name is) did a good job in this role).

Any further ideas?

In each of her films Rebecka seems to use the "Method" acting style in which she allows herself to "become" the character she plays. I doubt that her acting ability was ever fully tested as she seems completely at ease, whatever the role.

So, find a role needing a beautiful woman of indeterminate age and there you have one she could play. Probably anything from Salander to Ripley, although she does seem to have something special when it comes to sad, sensitive, non-violent roles. Ones that just tug at the heart. There must be a few like that around.

A Doctor Who companion.

Got to be an improvement on Catherine Tate, at least. :P  :r

Dextrous fingers and a compliant keyboard.

I could do things with these fingers that'd make your eyes water.

First of all, I wouldn't have wanted to see Rebecka in a Hollywood movie or TV series

And second, although she's gone from the movie business, the few roles she did made a really lasting impression

Above all she was Agnes in Fucking Åmål

That's very true. It's just that I would dearly like to see her still acting in film and playing quality roles. I guess, in the absence of new roles however, all we can do is remember films we like and imagine Rebecka playing a favourite character.

I'm sure we all feel the same way too, whether we have a particular liking for film, theatre, tv series, or whatever.

I guess it's kind of a bittersweet feeling that she's gone, and remembering her in the films she did

I don't think she'll ever return to acting though, that is just wishful thinking from you guys
