There is a theory that if any electrical appliance doesn't work properly, all it needs is a hit.

There is a second theory that if it still doesn't work you just haven't hit it hard enough.

I don't have much luck with electrical appliances  Maybe if I hit Bubbles over the head with it the batteries will kick into action

I was not able to find a DVD or something else of Närkontakt – but my Swedish is not that good...
So, has this film ever been released on DVD or VHS?

Thanks for sharing on YouTube & for the high quality MPG files by the way! :D

I can't understand hardly a word, but that doesn't matter in any way because of Rebecka's sweet face! Cutest face EVER! :T :D

I believe it was a one-off TV special. I do have the original Swedish script somewhere on my hard drive. I did consider doing an updated English translation. TBH It really isn't THAT good as a script or storyline. I find the plot idea about being trapped (but alive *:)* ) underwater in a vehicle, underneath a frozen lake exceeds the bounds of credibility. The dialogue is a bit strained and excruciating. The character of her screen father could just have easily silently held up an idiot placard saying ''I'm an asshole'', but then the film would have been that much shorter. All the more credit to Ms Liljeberg for helping make it, for what it is, watchable. Historically noteworthy as a film only because of her performance as a juvenile lead.

Ditto. But like you say, I'm not watching it for the plot. :)P

Närkontakt has only been broadcast once on TV in july of 1998, and that's before FÅ premiered

It was never released on vhs or dvd unfortunately

I didn't see it when it was shown on TV, but luckily for us someone taped it and put it on the net

Would be nice if they showed it once more on TV, then I could record it using a dvd-recorder for better quality

That would be nice.

I'd love to be able to see it with higher definition images.

I wonder if the production company still owns the rights, or if not them, who does.
We might be able to start a demand for Närkontakt after all these years. *:)*

But at least Caravan have a pretty reasonable series of vids of Sherdil on their site.

The same quality vids for Närkontakt would be great. *:)*

Does anybody know who produced this short film? Well, as you should know, asking never hurts... :D

The producter of Närkontakt is shown as "Lina Jonsson" and the production company as "Dramatiska Institutet" of Stockholm.

I don't know if anyone has ever approached them, but like you say, "asking never hurts".

Usual drill is to right-click on the zip file and do Save As... to your PC, then extract it to the folder of your choice.

It comes out as an html page that you can open with your browser.
