The link Kyle showed in the first item will take you straight to Alex's page. You can read that anytime you like without signing up.

If you sign up (like I did for a while), you get your own page where you can just type in whatever you are doing at the time. AND. You can choose to "follow" someone, like Alex, so that whenever you log on to Twitter (without using Kyle's link) you go straight to your own page which will have links to all those you have chosen to follow.

BUT. You will feel like you're naked in the street when people start appearing on your page as "following you". That's when I left Twitter.

Oh, and you seem to have no choice in who follows you.
