BRIDGE OVER THE ROAD / BRO ÖVER VÄGEN

Bridge across the road,
Shall we cross it together?
Or leave forever, in the darkness?
Go our separate ways, in days ahead
Look back, into the darkness of night
When our only bond was fear, the truth?
Our only light is, so ‘The love not spoken.’
Dare we eat a peach biatch ? Do drugs? Get mugged?
Take my hand, I’ll take your hand. Fearless, and my so how
Only the future, confuses us , and, what only we have is now
Do we feel alive, do more than survive? just look into my eyes
Halfway point of no return.. Look down how the traffic dies
Flowing like metal water. So is it. This way or that?
Are you as scared as me? Do we have to be afraid,
Of ourselves? If we can’t conquer our true future
If we can, a new day dawns, unsure unsettled
Driven by desire, you lead and I’ll follow!
I’ll lead you follow, blind as love & yay
Staggering towards? Nervous laughter
We know we share, let us go then
You and I, under a sodium sky
Hands clasped, knowing Our
only uncertain, certainty,
Is each other.Yay!

ee cummings smiles upon you from the afterlife, snappo :W

I also like how the formatting resembles a breast with a perky nipple.

Tsk! tsk! it is supposed to represent a bridge rather than a tit. :D :D

But you might have a point there. :!: The Bridge Over The Road might well represent Agnes and Elin pulling away from the tit of life that has sustained them so far, an unsure uncoupling.

Heck, work this theme up into a paper and I reckon some backwoods American university will award you an honorary PhD in Film Studies. :P :)

Personally, I'va always been a little pissed off that people didn't hex me for misquoting ''The Love Song of J. Alfred Pruefrock'' by T.S. Eliot.

Shall I part my hair behind? Do I dare to eat a peach?
I shall wear white flannel trousers, and walk upon the beach.
I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each.

I do not think that they will sing to me.

I have seen them riding seaward on the waves
Combing the white hair of the waves blown back
When the wind blows the water white and black.

We have lingered in the chambers of the sea
By sea-girls wreathed with seaweed red and brown
Till human voices wake us, and we drown.

Nobody cussed me out for stealing a Dylan Thomas phrase in Pauline's tribute, either. Bastards.

Yes, a bridge, that's exactly how I saw it. :N
Honest. O-) :P

Nothing wrong with borrowing a few words from someone else, especially someone you admire.
Just don't look for an illiterate like me to catch on.
I borrow all sorts of artisic ideas from other painters. It's just that in my case no one cares. :( :T

I generally don't like registering to any sites, but after doing so here, getting access to this board, and reading this poem, I'm happy I did.

For some reason I'm picturing a warm summer night instead of the freezing late April. But that's the thing with words, you can project anything that isn't said the way you like. Yay!

Also, hi everyone.
