There's been some obvious spam posts to the forum the last days, probably placed by spambots. Such messages will of course removed as soon as possible (and the "user" banned).

If you want to notify me about a spam message please send a personal message or e-mail rather than replying to the post (if I saw that I'd already seen it anyway... and I think it's best to remove the whole thread so any genious comments you made might be lost).

A captcha-test might work...

PHPBB version 2.0.11 onwards uses the captcha image verification system which requires a new member to enter a set of letters and numbers from a generated image before being able to sign up. Switch it on in the Admin Control Panel under the Configuration menu.

It's meant to fend off bots.

This is enabled, but it's clearly not working good enough. I have now also enabled account activation (the user must activate the account through an e-mail). I will upgrade to the latest version of the forum soon.
