As always I have too many ideas chasing my limited little talent here. Plus as always I would need to go and stay in Sweden to get the atmosphere right to bring this to fruition, and that ain't gonna happen.

Incidentally the myth of ''Chako Paul'' is real, if not (sadly ) true. Chinese newspapers really did run with the rumor that there is a hidden female only community of 25,000 in northern Sweden. And it is true that Swedish tourist websites crashed under the weight of oversexed Chinese guys with more money than sense wanting to find it. Typically the Swedish seeking to cash in on the potential only sorta ''half-denied'' the myth. A pity, I could have made a killing as a tour guide there. Give me your wad and I'll kick your ass .

My personal theory is that it was an internet overextension of the myth of the Aurora Borealis. In mythology, to some on the Pacific rim (I use that word advisedly ) It is associated with aphrodisiac properties.

Rambling along like finding your way to Chako Paul on a map with no labels, markings, or directions.

Have taken down ''Mystery of Chako Paul (Part 1 at 1300 words) '' and ''Murder of Stieg Larsson (Part 1 at 1800 words)'' now. I have been working with Sam on ideas for merging these two plotlines. I also have a pre-existing outline (1,000 words) of a modern north Scandinavian adventure ''Beyond The Midnight Sun'' the full length version of which would be too long for a short story as such. We have provided a sort of next part to the Larsson theme which I will post on here sometime (circa 2000 words). Sam is better on drawing on the economic and political side of plots than me, which is necessary to take it forward. We have hit the same problem as with ''The Land That is Not'' (storyboard at 3000 words) - there is limited mileage in pursuing what can only be ever classed as fanfiction. Existing copyright extends to the main characters.

With the Chako Paul idea (which is original) we can rewrite based on two different lead characters, one of whom happens to be a sassy fearless redhead I wonder who that could be? *whistles nonchalantly* We could incorporate most of the ideas from ''The Land That is Not'' as a sub-plot. It is annoying that although the story is entirely original (as a 10+ years on development of FA) , it is still shackled by using the characters of Elin and Agnes rendering it commercially dead in the water. Using the two leads and other characters from FA as background reference points was really half the fun in producing it. I still have the ''Happy Birthday Dear Agnes'' routine at 2100 words, and Sam using his clinical background drafted a specimen script for a SJUKHUSBACKEN (hospital in Sodermalm) scene, at about 1500 words, which would have reunited Agnes and Elin. By combining all these elements we may have the basis for a sustainable ORIGINAL novel, or who knows, maybe even screenplay

In reality I've come to the conclusion that Ten Years On ain't ever going to happen. Moodysson would have made it by now if he was going to do it. Certainly the prospects of an acting reunite of Mesdames Dahlstrom and Liljeberg look increasingly unlikely from the latter's disposition. Someone on here jokingly remarked about a ''F.A. - the next generation'' being made. If anything I think that is a more likely a scenario for ten plus years from now. There are acting precedents like Jenny Agutter changing roles from the lead girl to playing her mother in the remake of ''The Railway Children'' and doubtless others you can think of. It would be good for continuity to see Alex make that kind of move, and icing on the cake if one (or more!) of the Liljeberg/ Skepp sprogs went into acting and played in it as well!

You could always WRITE it as Agnes and Elin, snapsie, and then when it's finished go back and change the names and a few of the minor details. Sneaky, but then you have the fun of writing it as such, but end up with something potentially floggable.

What a remarkable feat of concentration to keep "fonetik" the whole time. By half way it was very easy to read, and very enjoyable.

Aww fanq! This idea ran away with itself. It started off as a prequel about Agnes earlier days in Mariefred, and her odd friendship with Skylar. Writing this fonetikali took about three times as long as normal, as I have a tendency to self-correct as I go along. The rest fell into place on a day visit to Matlock Bath (don't know if you know it Ian?) as being the sort of tourist place Skylar grows up (poor substitute for Mariefred I know, but it's all I can afford) I have a good idea for a teen novel developing from this, but couldn't bear to write it all in fonetik, maybe just the odd sample. It is a symbiotic relationship, Agnes being Agnes can't see the trolls, pixies, fairies and elves that Skylar sees all around, but provides the cool logic to help Skylar campaign against property development threatening the enchanted woods.

I promise to keep taking the medication. Yeh.
