Animal Kingdom- A great aussie crime flick.

Together- Moodysson greatest film (as much as i love Fucking amal) touching and funny at the same time. Plus ABBA's S.O.S always brings out a smile.

Adam and Paul- A tragic comic tale on the life of Two junkies in Dublin, Ireland. Very funny but it gets really bleak at he end.

Kisses- Another Irish film about Two trouble teens and their journey around Dublin at night.

The Defenders. I love it!! Watching it now at this moment. Jim Belushi and Jerry O'Connell are just great!

X Files: Theef. A successful doctor and his family are targeted by a vengeful father with voodoo powers in this scary episode, one of season 7's best, with some inventively gruesome moments (you'll never look at an MRI machine the same way again) and a memorably fraught climax.

X Files: X-COPS. This brilliant episode plays out as an episode of reality tv show "COPS", where a COPS crew following the LA Police stumble onto Mulder and Scully in the middle of an investigation! Aping the COPS style down to the letter - with blurred out faces and bleeped expletives - this risky episode has more than just a gimmick with a great script that is by turns funny (Scully's disdain for the whole thing is priceless) and scary, which has to walk a fine line since, because it's all being captured on video, the episode can't really SHOW any kind of definitive supernatural phenomena. One of my favourite episodes. As Mulder notes at the end, "It all depends on how they edit it together."

Classic. :D

Doctor Who - The Time Warrior again last night. Absolutely great fun. One of the best Pertwee stories, the first to feature both Sarah Jane Smith and the Sontarans, this has a terrific, witty script and some great performances (esp from Kevin Lindsay as Linx and David Daker's deliciously OTT Irongron). Its dated rather better than many of the era too, probably thanks to the period setting and the lack of much in the way of fx, while the main "fx", the Sontaran, still looks terrific today.

Great stuff.

Love Rubeish's response to the Doctor saying he's "looking for a young girl".

"Young girl, eh? I would have thought he was a bit old for that sort of thing!"

Watched a film called "The Lovely Bones" on pay TV.
Directed by Peter Jackson, (Lord Of The Rings).

In 1973 a teenage school girl falls victim to a serial killer.

I won't spoil the rest of the story, and critics seem to either love it or hate it, but I thought it was brilliant.

One of Peter Jackson's. I'll probably tape it when it comes on 'normal' telly.

The original Night of the Living Dead was on ABC the other day. Taped it. Watched it for half an our. Turned it off.

VERY bad. :T

I always thought it was supposed to be that bad.
It seemed like the only thing the film had going for it. :T

Much as I tend to be anti-remake, it has to be said that - and I'm sure some would see this as sacrilege - the 1990 remake was INFINITELY better.

Saw Tremors again last night. This 80s comic horror monster movie remains a genuine classic.

Doctor Who - The Impossible Astronaut. Reasonable start to the new season, if a somewhat baffling plot so far.The new monsters are creepy though, with a cool hook (the moment you look away from them, you forget they were ever there).
