New Movies You're Looking Forward To

Postby Ian » Thu Feb 04, 2010 10:27 am

Thought I'd open a thread for anyone to mention (and maybe clue others in on) any new or upcoming movies they're looking forward to.

Can only think of two myself, one of which is The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

The other, that looks like fun, is Tucker & Dale vs Evil. It's a comedy horror role reversal pisstake of the "inbred backwoods nutjobs" genre, only in this case the backwoodsmen are sweet and harmless, but a series of misunderstandings leads a group of visiting college coeds to think they're "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" style psychos, and they decide to kill them before they kill them! It looks rather amusing.

Anyone else got any films we should be on the lookout for?

Looking forward the the DVD release of "Flickan som lekte med elden", "The Girl Who Played with Fire".

Reviews for this second film in the Millenium Trilogy are a bit dodgy but I feel committed to all three now.

I enquired about ''The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'' at HMV today. The guy said it won't be avavilable on DVD with English subtitles in Region 1 format till its had a ''theatrical'' showung in the UK, whihc might just be one weeks screening in a flea-pit in London, but no firm date yet. We also agreed about the likely paucity of the US remakes of the Millenium trilogy and also LTROI. :(

Found one on Poland's Ebay for you. Image :D

Then I thought, "I guess I'd better make sure it has subtitles before I post the link"

I does.

Errrr. Can either of you read Polish? :T

It's the thought that counts.

"Burke and Hare" is starting to look promising. Comedy horror from John Landis ("American Werewolf") about the real life Victorian serial killers who actually had the cheek to sell the bodies of their victims to medical research! Great cast too (Simon Pegg, Andy Serkis, Isla Fisher, Tom Wilkinson, Jessica Hynes, Tim Curry, John Woodvine, even Christopher Lee!). Could be good. :D

Found another one here http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/Girl-with-the-Dragon-Tattoo-DVD-Stieg-Larsson_W0QQitemZ290389772726QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_216?hash=item439c9449b6 in Singapore which says "Original Swedish version with Swedish, Norwedian and Finnish subtitles (there are no English subtitles - none in the market)." in the blurb.
But that's crap 'cause I own one with English subs. It's the Danish version so if you don't want to wait you might be able to find a seller in Denmark who has it.

If anyone sees "Flickan som lekte med elden" (The Girl Who Played with Fire, [Danish] Pigen der legede med ilden) with English subs please let me know as I'm having no luck with this one yet. *:|*

What's that?

Dragon Tattoo is out in NZ on DVD at the end of next month. Hopefully it should be a lot easier to get then! At least it actually IS getting cinema/dvd released over here.

It'll be great on a big screen but you'll probably want the DVD as well. It's certainly worth seeing more than once.Image

A Bears Kiss. It's not a new movie, but I've never seen it before. Well, just clips. I finally found a torrent that didn't give my computer a virus. I'll be watching this Saturday; SML, Sherdil, Bears Kiss and EA (Frida), so it's a Rebecka Saturday!! *:)*

Anyone looking for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo WITH English subs, there's one here.

I think it's the same Ebay seller I bought mine from before.

I sent a message to that seller yesterday and here is the answer I received.

"Hi, New stock of 'The girl with the dragon tattoo' and "The girl who play fire' will come on 15th. Thank you."

Might be worth checking the link again next week if you can't find it anywhere else beforehand.
