Resubscribed to Netflix (not had it since August) on the ad tier of 6.99 a month (10 bucks less). To be fair, I watched like two hours last night and had two short ads.
Watched the first two eps of Fool Me Once. A former soldier who seemingly exited in disgrace and who has already lost her sister to a violent home invasion witnesses her husband gunned down by robbers... only to see him on a hidden nanny-cam not long after the funeral. Pretty good so far. Joanna Lumley's in it. Bloody hell she's still going!

Netflix has behaved badly and deserves its own punishment for being greedy.

Been doing a Smallville rewatch marathon for the first time since it ended, onto season 9 now. 3, 5 and 6 are my faves so far. 7 was pretty good and it was fun to have James Marsters back as Brainiac, though losing Lionel, Lana and Lex in the space of a few eps was a bit much. I am glad they brought Lana back for a multi-episode guest stint in season 8, though, as while it sat rather oddly in the middle of the season (would have been better earlier) her exit the previous season sucked absolute balls. Brainiac turns her into a vegetable, she disappears for a bunch of eps and then when she wakes up (off-screen) after he's destroyed, her exit is a pre-recorded videotape. Like, really? That's the exit you give your leading lady for the last seven years? F off!
8 was pretty solid, though, with the Davis Bloome/Doomsday arc giving it plenty of welly.

So apparently there's two new Dexter shows coming. Dexter: Original Sin which is a prequel, and Dexter: Resurrection, which seemingly carries on after the 2021/22 one, New Blood.
Don't know how I feel about this. The prequel seems like a shitty idea to me, as pointless as most prequels tend to be.

I'm more into the latter, as Michael C Hall is coming back (apparently he's also doing a Young Sheldon-esque voiceover on the prequel), so long as he's really back and he's not some sort of hallucinatory force ghost like Deb was in New Blood. He did imply in the interview that, while seemingly killed off at the end of that (really stupidly), he may have survived the shooting by virtue of the extreme cold (he was left for dead in the snow in an Alaskan town). Also seem to be hearing that it's not just a one-off like New Blood was supposed to be so hopefully they won't be trying to end it and then change their mind every time!

New Blood started off really well but kind of fell apart in the last couple of episodes by virtue of their seeming desperation to get it over with and kill him as fast as possible, resulting in nonsensical plot and character turns that made no sense and were deeply contrived. If we can avoid that... maybe.

Still think the prequel looks shit though.

I'm sure I mentioned this last time I watched the 2004 Neighbours season (4 years ago) but I did guffaw out loud at Boyd telling Stingray that Lana kissed Sky. Stingray looks at him, contemplating seriously for a moment, and then goes:
"Did you get it on video?"
