Some fiendish cocktail/s, no doubt - "three measures of cognac, one of Blackfriars gin, two of golden rum, double shot of grenadine, half-pint of champagne, and 30ml nitro-glycerine"

She had to find out the hard way about the dangers of  eeeer.... alcohol sometime.

MINI-FF

Marie at home with invisible parents.

Marie: Mama, Papa, I have a confession to make.
Marie's Papa: Huh uh, je ne c'est pas?
Marie's Mama: SSSSSShh its 'France has got talent on TV''
Marie: I have done something really bad.
Marie's Papa: Did you rob a bank? We could use the money
Marie: Non. It's worse than that.
Marie's Papa: What could be worse than that?
Marie's Mama to Papa:(whispered): Glad we only had the one.
Marie: Je suis une lesbisk.
Marie's Papa: Why the fuck have you suddenly started talking in Swedish?
Marie: I dunno.
Marie's Mama: So what is the fucking problem?
Marie: I am in lurve. With another girl.
Marie's Mama: well just so long it's not that stuck-up biatch Floriane, from the synchro-swimming group it's not a problem.
Marie: Non.
Marie's Papa: SSSSSShh, the Eurolottery numbers are coming up.
Marie: Snapsie-Won-Kenobi, I appeal to you. Beam me up tonite.  :?

Love that snapsian improv!

Lots of the deeply Marie-smitten, and some serious Floriane-explainers, here;

As you implied in the WL topic, Pauline is less of a "conventional" beauty but her sultry intensity gives her a much more interesting beauty of her own.

I grow increasingly curious about what my affection for these characters [Marie, Agnes, Eli] is trying to tell me. I guess a Jungian would say I'm projecting my own Anima qualities onto them [but even then, the projection requires a viable image to hook onto].

Granted freely that there is something slightly ludicrous, or even suspect, about a late-middle-aged man mooning over fifteen-year-old girls [or 12, in Lina L's case], I'm easy in myself that it's all ok, that there is something I need to know about myself that they represent.

Hmmm. They're all kind of passionate, but also reserved. They all exhibit a courageous and upfront woundedness, and have a certain pathos [well, maybe Agnes not quite so much]. They're all girls [or presenting as, in eLina's case], so it's a feminine, Anima, Lunar thing. They're all pretty tough, and smart. They're all highly individual, and all extremely, if unconventionally, beautiful.

I'm liking this exercise more and more.

I think that about sums up my feelings too.
Maybe I'm just a romantic at heart. *:)* *:)* *:)*

(In a very platonic way, of course.  )

MINI-FF

MARIE: We need to talk.
TOMI THE TERRAPIN: ‘bout what? The state of the economy?
MARIE: I’m sorry. There’s no easy way to say this.
TOMI THE TERRAPIN: So make my day. It’s no fun fapping around a fishtank.
MARIE: I’m not in love with you any more.
TOMI THE TERRAPIN: *sighs* Rejection. The Story of My life.
MARIE: It’s just that …. I am in lurve with another.
TOMI THE TERRAPIN: Another what?
MARIE: A sentient being who is now my universe. You must make space for her.
TOMI THE TERRAPIN: Jeeez. You’re not getting a pirhana fish to share my tank?
MARIE: It’s worse than that.
TOMI THE TERRAPIN: Don’t tell me you’ve fallen for a cockatoo?
MARIE: I’ve told you before. I’m lesbisk.
TOMI THE TERRAPIN: Well chance would be a fine thing for me.
MARIE: You’re no fun in the bath anymore. I need a synchro swimmer.
TOMI THE TERRAPIN: I’m not fussy. Terrapins don’t play mind games.
MARIE: I’ve outgrown you. I’m sick of your childish crap.
TOMI THE TERRAPIN: Fnaaar fnaaar! So says Mrs No-boobs.

*Marie plucks Tomi out of his tank and plops him into the loo bowl*

TOMI THE TERRAPIN: Is THIS my new home?
MARIE: Non. This is farewell.
TOMI THE TERRAPIN: Don’t you mean au revoir?
MARIE: Non. I mean adieu. *presses FLUSH*

Kind of reminds me of the young woman being examined by her gyno.
Referred to her ovaries as her aviaries.

The rest of the ftory is bleedin' obvious.

A dolorous shot, indeed. God, I hope Lars von Trier doesn't take a fancy to her! It'd be worse than Dancer in the Dark!

Yes, a savage, even sadistic exercise in pathos.

Bjork 'fell in love' with the character, she said, and I believe her, too.
