"La Lisière" (The Edge)
Was on TV, World Movies Channel a few years ago.
That's where I caught up with it.
Not a great film.
Minimal Pauline.

I didn't bother to keep my recording of it, but I've seen it plenty of times on Ebay if anyone wants to add it to their collection.

And I can't even remember how I came to find "L'Autre Sang".
I have a recollection that someone else found it and told me where it was, but I don't recall the details.

It was on a Russian site, dubbed into Russian.
I've been able to download it but I have no idea if it's still on the "Egoist" site.
Great concept, nice Pauline content too.
But there's a dark side to the film which I won't expand upon. (spoilers)
It's not called "L'Autre Sang" ("Other Blood") for nothing.

And then there was "Jamais Contente".

I've never bought from Amazon before, always preferring Ebay for some reason.
But, desperate times and all that, I had a look on Amazon France, and there it was.
Expensive, no subs.

The film's not bad if you're a Léna Magnien fan but Pauline's role isn't significant.
She's obviously very over qualified for the part which could/should have been so much more.
If you can find her scenes they're nice, but very brief and do nothing much to expand on the character Jessica.

Adapted from "Le Journal d'Aurore" by Marie Desplechin.
Screenplay by Émilie Deleuze and others.

On Amazon Canada.
Currently unavailable.

OK, which one of you nasty people bought the whole supply without giving me the chance to buy one first? :x :P

That's...extraordinary.

L'Acquart G et E must surely be the best-loved 'unknown' in film.

There's a certain sadness about that phrase. :(

Edgar posted this yesterday.
I have a feeling he may by now have left Australia. *:|*

Blanche Neige was a stage production directed by Nicolas Liautard.
It toured Europe from 2010 for several years and in 2011 the production company Axe-Sud made a dvd of the stage show.
I contacted Axe-Sud directly and was able to buy a copy.

There may be copies available now on Ebay or Amazon, I haven't checked.
It's well worth owning if you get the chance. :D *:)*
Extras include a "making of" and some interviews.

Necroing this:

It does seem an awfully long time to wait unless something went terribly wrong in the filming.
But then they're aware that it'll take that long, so maybe there's another reason.

Owen, is there any major military commemoration date scheduled for late this year/ early next?
Just thinking, maybe Volontaire was made to pay homage to some military occasion which is being celebrated about then.

Well, I don't really know. This year major celebration is the end of WWI, which will come on the 11th November.

Fish, what did you think of "Jamais contente" as a movie, independently of the disappointing screentime for PA? I'm not against seeing it on more time, or even seeing a sequel. Léna Magnien was a natural in her role 8) .

And I can't even remember how I came to find "L'Autre Sang".

You forgot that subtitles for it were also made by me, who am willing to give them to anyone in the need (the other subtitles that I've made too).

(Wonderful people. *:)* )

They ignored my mail
Maybe I should retry.

Yeah, a hundred years. I don't know how that fits in with what little we know of the storyline though.
Something to bear in mind.

...what did you think of "Jamais contente" as a movie...

Quite enjoyable. Léna was very good in her role, as was Alex Lutz as the teacher.
In fact all the minor parts were well played, it's just that I'd have loved to have seen more screen time for Pauline.

..."L'Autre Sang"...You forgot that subtitles for it were also made by me...

I did forget, sorry.
I've gotten used to it without subs now, but if it's something my feeble brain can manage I'd love to have them.

(Wonderful people. *:)* )

Maybe they were only wonderful because I'm on the other side of the planet.
Nothing's lost by trying again though.

Excerpt from a brief interview with Diane Rouxel on "Crash.fr". http://www.crash.fr/a-meeting-with-diane-rouxel/

"Tell us about your career and where you’re from.

I grew up in Haute-Savoie until I was seventeen. Then I spent the last year of high school in Paris before going to art school. That’s when my actress friend Pauline Acquart brought me to a few casting calls, but it was mostly just for fun."

Diane is a long time friend, one of the "three in a bed", and is becoming a celebrated actress.

Hard to imagine such close friends not staying in contact.
I'm going through one of those periods of doubt where I fear for Pauline's health.
All I really want is her happiness, but I'd love to see some assurance of it. 8)
