*:)* Yes it is, I want to see it again too, but haven't had the occasion yet. I was recommended Les diables, her first film, 5 years before Water Lilies. You should check it out, it seems to enter the kind of movies discussed here.

Fish, Les combattants is very good! Fun, then serious, then fun again, and it keeps going in unexpected directions. Haenel is good as always.

I had a look on Ebay to see if I could find a dvd with English sub-titles.
None for sure yet, but such a range of prices.
A used copy for around $A10 + $A8 postage, right up to a new one for over $A120 including postage. :r
No sign of subs though and I'm not sure I'd pay $120 for the solid gold one even if it had subs.

Adele is doing very well indeed in film roles, it seems. Go girl!

Very true.
Parts in short films are OK but the lead in a big production would be better. *:)*

From the cast of Water Lilies, I always thought Pauline Acquart was the one who was going to be the breakout star but if you look back at Water Lilies now, Adele Haenel really over time starts to stand out as the star the more you watch it. Don't get me wrong I'm shocked Pauline hasn't reached the heights her co star has but I think Adele has probably the better agent and probably the better actress (DMT will probably kill me for that, I do think Pauline is more striking though).

The fact she's still getting top roles even when she came out (even though we are more open minded today it still goes agaisn't actors or actresses) but to be fair Adele has gone on to great things even to the point I think she could if she's ambitious enough she could be knocking on Hollywood's door soon enough. She had a amazing performance even before Water Lilies came alone with The Devils, she's amazing in that. After Water Lilies, her work has got better she's amazing in House of Tolerance and won a Caesar for her performance in the very good Love At First Fight. She's the French version of Brie Larson for me, very underrated but if given the right role she puts in award winning performances.

That extra experience at such a young age seems to have been so valuable to her career.
I've seen her in a few shorts as well and she always shines.

I hope she continues to find great roles as she's very worthy.
Break a leg Adèle. *:)*
