Christopher Eccleston has revealed that his relationship with his three immediate superiors broke down in the first recording block of series 1, and never recovered, and that was why he left the series - and that he will never work with 2000s showrunner Russell T Davies ever again. Ouch.

Such a shame. Saw The Empty Child again the other day and it was tops, and so was he. *:|*

Have picked up the book Doctor Who and the Krikkitmen by James Goss, based on the story treatment by none other than Douglas Adams. Lots of fun so far. :D

The Macra Terror, the completely missing (bar the soundtrack) 4 part 2nd Doctor story from 1967, is being animated for DVD and Blu ray release in March (probably April here! ), in both black and white and full colour versions. :D *:)*

Meanwhile the classic series is being released in seasons for the first time ever, on Blu ray. Season 19, the first Peter Davison season from 1982, is already out in the UK and will be released here at the end of January. Season 12 (Tom Baker's first season) was released earlier in the year, but is already OOP. Season 18 (Tom's last) is out in February in the UK (probably later here  :T ). ;)

Saw The Moonbase today. Don't usually watch Who in the afternoon but with our dark and monsoon weather a slice of 60s spookiness seemed appropriate! I've always liked The Moonbase and I thoroughly enjoyed it this time around, only the 2nd time I've seen it with the animated episodes, which are one of the better animations. Great Troughton. :D

Saw The Macra Terror last night. The Doctor and company arrive in a happy, happy human colony in the future, where everyone's a bit too happy, and the Doctor soon finds the colony is under the control of brainwashing alien giant crabs. Of course. This 4 part Patrick Troughton story is of course completely missing in its original form, and this is the new 2019 animated version and I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The animation has vastly improved from the borderline unwatchable Power, and I have to say I COMPLETELY agree with the move to make the animations "Reimaginings" if that means widescreen, full colour and a lot of artistic licence with the visuals. Why the hell not? It looks fab, and while the story is little more than average - if perfectly fun and entertaining - the visuals help enormously to make it appealing to actually watch. I very much hope they continue to do missing stories in this style. Great fun. *:)* :D
