Game Night. Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams are a competitive couple whose weekly "game night" gets upped a notch by Bateman's show-off older brother, promising them an interactive real-world murder-mysteryesque game involving his own abduction. Unfortunately some real world thugs gatecrash the party and things do not quite as planned... This modern comedy has a similar style premise to the 1997 Bill Murray comedy The Man Who Knew Too Little, albeit nowhere near as good. By modern comedy movie "standards" it's not bad, and less gross-out rubbish than most, but it's overly long, with too many endings, and it doesn't milk the premise anywhere near as well you'd think.

Murder By Decree. Sherlock Holmes is on the hunt for Jack the Ripper in this late 70s Victorian thriller starring Christopher Plummer and a perfectly cast James Mason as Holmes and Watson. Well made and acted, with a great 'hook', but it's a bit on the ponderous side and the conspiracy thriller plot never really convinces.

The critic said it was very bad.
It's not a great movie, but at least it's a novelty of ETs, something totally different from what I've seen so far.

The protagonist who is a biologist and a soldier reminds me of the movie AVATAR that the protagonist is a soldier that accompanies the scientists and finally he seems best inteligence of all them.

Hello!

Went to the cinema today to see Avengers: Infinity War. I was in two minds whether to, as I'm not exactly the biggest fan of the MCU, but I'm glad I did. I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would, even with the butt-numbing running time. It helps that there was plenty of Robert Downey Jnr and the Guardians characters (the latter more than I expected, actually), as they're by far the best characters/actors in the franchise. I'm not going to call it cinema's finest hour but it was the best of the Avengers films so far and one of the better entries in the MCU, and that's coming from a cynic like me. :D
