from Sunday Mercury blog:

Doctor Who is not anti-ginger! by Steve Wollaston on Jan 13, 10 01:15 PM
Sunday Mercury columnist George Tyndale discussed a rather interesting subject at the weekend - is Doctor Who gingerist?

Here's what he had to say. Keep on reading for proof that the Doc isn't anti ginger... AS if Daleks, Cyber Men and the Empress of Racnoss weren't bad enough, Dr Who's got a new inter-galactic foe - the Ginger Mingers. More than 140 viewers have complained that the Time Lord has an anti-ginger agenda. When Matt Smith, the new doc, "regenerated" from David Tennant, he looked at his new hair and said: "Still no ginger." The episode was watched by 11 million and what Dr Who says is hugely influential. The show's producers claim Dr Who is actually pro-ginger - and was disappointed not to be reborn as a carrot top. But worried parents claim the "joke" means innocent red-headed children will be bullied, stigmatised and lose their mates. Of course, this is nonsense. As everyone knows, kids with ginger hair don't have mates, they smell and entertain themselves by shoplifting. There is of course one other bit of proof that Doctor Who isn't anti ginger - it comes in the quite lovely shape of new assistant Karen Gillan.

''As everyone knows, kids with ginger hair don't have mates, they smell and entertain themselves by shoplifting.'' Have they been watching me

These people are mental.

LOL Snaps. You know what I mean, I'm talking about whether she's a good actress or not! (That said, her character, Amy, is actually really called Amelia... which kinda gets me liking her already!  :P )

I was going to wait, but have cracked and downloaded episode 1 of the new series. Will watch it tonight. The positive responses even from a lot of fans who haven't been too keen on New Who of late weakened my resolved, what can I say? :T

Had a Cody dream last night. Can't remember much, but it makes a change to remember anything, so sweet. That chick is always lurking around my subconscious somewhere, I don't know how she does it. Snaps thinks she has a problem with Agnes, this one's been at me for 19 years!

I've come over all sad now.

Dr W would never have let a little thing like that stand in his way.
I'm sure the technology exists on some planet to make her real. :P
