Lesbisk [& other] lovesong

Here's one - a splendid tune from a splendid album [Sean-Nos Nua], Sinéad at her most beautiful and tender.

I enjoyed that. :cry: *cwies in the corner* I just feel it should be accessible to everyone as a love song. :(

Me too, snaps, but Sinéad specifically wants it read that way, or so I gather from the sleevenotes. Of course it's up to us...

On at least three tracks of this album, she sings more quietly and tenderly than I've ever heard anybody else...but I'd love to be proved wrong.

Well, if we have Sinead fans here, how about a non-gender-specific song of loneliness/longing, apparently an outtake from working with Prince;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVA9Mn_TGl4&feature=related

What would you do if I said 'I love you' ?
I dont want to make love, just to hold you.

In this lonely life of mine, I have nobody
To see me thru loveless times. I'm so lonely.

I would love someone to call me "Baby".
All I really need is somebody to love me.
Someone who would need me.

I would love to be someone's baby.
Say that you'll be like a mother to me.

This is what i ask the Lord above;
Send someone who'll see that im in such pain
To kiss my eyes and call me, "Love".

Lovely sad song.
Lovely images.

So sad that her early years were so painful.
Brings me to tears when I think about young people being abused. :x :cry:

Three favourite things. Sinead, Pauline and Radiohead.
Thanks for that. Lovely. *:)*

'Puter's acting up, the little shit. :x
Second time trying to reply.

Thanks for posting the link, I hadn't seen it before but I'll watch it later when I have more time. You don't very often find hour long clips on YT. :shock:

Excellent version of my (everybody's?) favourite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzjUjNPYzLg

And while I'm not generally a fan of covers, here's an accoustic version by Chrissie Hynde (Pretenders) which is well worth the effort. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lML2N4xB9GU

The only bad thing about writing "Creep" so early in their career is how the hell could they top that? Image

"How the hell could they top that?" might well be described by future music historians as The Radiohead Dilemma or Syndrome.

Good problem to have though, eh. 8)

See if you like this...Joanna Newsome on excellent, and unusually comic, form;

So I thought, WTF, there's no sound. :shock: :?:
And then I realised that you actually have to t-u-r-n t-h-e s-p-e-a-k-e-r-s o-n. :oops: :oops: :oops:

Hey, that was good.
Never heard of her before though.
I'll have to do a little reasearch I think. *:)*
