I've got it coming too, Ian; my Ma is 92, I just thank God she's still [mostly] got her marbles...at least she's not in some 'care' home, but being looked after by my sister, brother and I at bbSis' place.

It's rather a lot of driving and faff, TBH; but as Santi sagely notes, it's also the primary relationship.

Hope it all went well.

It went as well as these things can, I guess. I'm glad that that at least is over.

Thank you. It's a month tomorrow. Simultaneously feels like yesterday and ages ago. It's been a weird month.

William Russell has died at the age of 99. An accomplished British actor with decades of tv, film and theatre, he shot to fame in the 50s in the title role of The Adventures of Sir Lancelot for BBC TV. His career encompassed everything from Blackadder to Coronation Street and the original 70s Superman film, but probably his most enduring role is of course in Doctor Who as one of the original TARDIS crew, Ian Chesterton, the science teacher turned adventurer and action hero. In the program's earliest days, when even the Doctor seemed like a bit of a dodgy bugger, Ian was the square-jawed yet terribly polite British gentleman hero who put up with no shit from no one, be they alien monsters, Aztec warriors, King Richard the Lionheart (played by Julian Glover, no less) or even the Doctor himself!
Very sad. RIP. :(

Actor and singer James Darren has passed at 88. He had a very long career stretching back to the 60s in shows such as The Time Tunnel, though I mainly remember him as the hologram singer Vic Fontaine in the last few seasons of Star Trek Deep Space Nine, a role in which he was the epitome of cool. RIP. :(
