I'm appalled. Again.

Discuss anything on your mind, with focus on films and music though.

Manchester!

Only takes a few days of no news for me to fall out of the loop.

What's this about floods in the north of England?
Looks very bad all through such a large area.
I hope you and your family & friends & everyone you know is safe Dave.

[So far?] the floods haven't reached my immediate vicinity, Fishy, thanks.

The newspapers are screaming about 100mph Winds!! and Even More Rain!! but I ain't buying into it... :r

I heard about this as well, and had to call a friend who was in Manchester up until this morning.
He drove from London to Manchester on sunday I think, and flew to Norway today, but hadn't seen much flood.
Maybe (hopefully) you're right about a little media exaggeration.

He has a sort of second home in Manchester you see, goes there maybe 10 times a year.
Old Trafford he calls it. :P

  _O^

I hope the ferocity of the storms was less than forecast Dave, and I glad you're out of the way of the flooding.

Hope it stays that way. :Y

Thanks! So do I, Fish, the flooding isn't that far away.

Lots & lots of dark, rainy days with high winds, too.

Sympathize with that, pretty much the same here.

Do hope you stay unharmed by the flood, Dave.

Didn't we have Xmas last year? :?

How come this whole year only took a couple of months to fly by? Image

And why are all these people in the shops when I want to be there? :T

Now I've got to help organise a family feast or something similar for Sunday.

I may be AWOL until after it's all done, so I hope everyone has a wonderful Xmas. Image
Stay cool, or warm, whatever your weather dictates at the moment.
And above all, stay safe.

Some years back, my Dad said,

"Is it the weekend already? Seems to be coming round every three days..."

Now I [and Fish] know just what he meant.

Manchester.
WTF

Haven't seen the full details yet of what happened and why, but it does not sound good.

I hope you and your loved ones are unharmed Dave.
Take care.

Sadly it seems so.
I mean, why target kids ffs? :T

Here's hoping they can quickly round up all those responsible.

To arouse popular feeling, presumably. Interesting timing, with a General Election two weeks away, no?

Yes - all those actually responsible, preferably.

Make no mistake about it: the Manchester attack had everything to do with young women

Women and girls don’t have to carry Kalashnikovs to strike fear into the hearts of medieval-minded murderers. They just have to remain defiant in the face of oppression, joyous and liberated and unhidden

This is a very intelligent and original article. It goes beyond rhetoric and knee-jerk reactions to providing some insight into the psycho-sexual inadequacy driving the 'men' of ISIS. I am not even a musical fan of Ariana Grande, but interested to note that she has been unequivocal in her support of LGBTQ rights since she was a teenage actress. I think the choice of target audience was no accident.
