Not today but last night on UKTV they replayed "Blink"

Still an excellent episode of Who.

Sounds much better than "The Time of Angels". Image

Doctor Who - The Time Meddler. Very atmospheric, highly enjoyable Hartnell story. The episode 3 cliffhanger - "It's a TARDIS. The Monk's got a TARDIS!" - must have been astonishing in 1965. Sad that it's the last (existing) Vicki story, too. She's so cute.

Dr Who - The Masque of Mandragora last night. Hmm... it's not really very good. I mean, its well made and well acted, but it just sort of sits there. Never really does anything or builds up to anything, in fact the last episode just sort of ebbs away to nothing. Not really bad, just very, very average.

Skins series 4 final. An excellent finale to a somewhat up-and-down season. Naomi's speech was incredibly powerful. I don't think we've ever seen her so emotionally naked (rather than covering it up with the 'sarcastic bitch' front, as she put it) before, and the actress' trembling performance totally sold it. And it was, of course, exactly what Emily needed to hear. *:)* :)P

The final scene was pretty intense too, even if it did leave me yelling at the screen like I haven't done since the last episode of Angel. I hope Cook splits the evil SOB's skull in.

Will definitely have to get 3 and 4 on dvd sometime.

Sons & Daughters. lol, not for nothing was Patricia known as "Pat the Rat". Normal people, upon discovering something rather hurtful about her fiance (albeit something 20 years old) would either have gotten over it, or just dumped his sorry ass. Not Patricia, no, she's out to cause as much pain and destruction as she can to him and his family (including coaxing his daughter into having an abortion) all the while pretending to still be in love with him. What a f*****g psycho!

Sons and Daughters (again  ). Martin is really showing his true colours now. What an absolute nutjob.

I really don't remember him from when I saw it as a kid (aside from one scene I presume is coming up shortly!) so I've no idea what happens in the end. I'm rooting for Pat now, lol, though he seems to be doing an excellent job of destroying his family without her help. What a crackpot.

It's really getting juicy at the moment!

Doctor Who - remaining eps of Daleks Master Plan and the one of Celestial Toymaker. DMP looks very good and it's a shame 3/4 of it is missing. What's left of TCT doesn't inspire the same level of confidence but it's still not bad. Enjoyable.

Doctor Who - The Gunfighters. Took a little while for me to get it into it this time, but once I did - great fun. A delightful tongue in cheek Western pastiche/parody, and hugely entertaining. Anthony Jacobs steals the show as Doc Holliday, a delightfully loveable, rascally old rogue who is nonetheless seriously not not to be messed with. The final shootout is played deadly straight, and really quite impressively staged too. Great fun.

Doctor Who -The War Machines last night. A lot of fun, really enjoyed it this time. Not without its flaws (the Doctor so easily walking into the Post Office Towerand being instantly accepted withiout explanation is just bizarre, as is the whole "Doctor Who" stuff, as is Dodo's WTF exit)but I guess I was in the right mood this time. It's so weird seeing the Hartnell era doing a contemporary Earth UNIT-style story, and even weirder to see Bill wandering the streets, catching taxi cabs, frequenting discos and making smarmy comments about officialdom ("the official mind can only take in so much at a time"! ). It's like the Pertwee era's arrived four years early!

So many Doctors. I can't keep track. :T

I guess they can't all be great stories though, where can they get good new ideas every time.
Maybe there's a quota for each regeneration.

Last night I watched:

A 27 year old Aus soap opera.

A 21 year old Aus kids show.

A 23 year old British sitcom.

A 19 year old American sitcom.

I fear I am showing my age. :P
