I thoroughly recommend it. It tells the story straight as related by Fraulein Jundl (?) one of Hitlers secretaries. The unravelling madness is never overdone. The subdued smokey greys and browns of the cinematography underline this. Every moment is believable. One of those films that grabs you by the shoulders and pulls you in and doesnt let go until the end, when you need to spend a coupla hours in recovery trying to answer all the questions raging in your head. (I have the DVD, it was a birthday gift, I have wierd friends!) One to see from time to time when that mood takes you. if you liked the realism of Das Boot you will love it. Havent seen Valkyrie yet, but will soon.
