NOT BY ME!!! Yay!!

Sorry to be a pain in case anyone has already uploaded this, not many pop song lyrics stand alone as poetry but there are exceptions. I just think this song fitted the overall mood of FA/SML so well and especially for the backseat scene it was perfect. I know it wasn't a first choice for Lukas but to my mind it was a happy co-incidence, it says it all:

FOREIGNER

I Want To Know What Love Is (Mick Jones)

I gotta take a little time
A little time to think things over
I better read between the lines
In case I need it when I'm older

Now this mountain I must climb
Feels like a world upon my shoulders
Through the clouds I see love shine
It keeps me warm as life grows colder

In my life there's been heartache and pain
I don't know if I can face it again
Can't stop now, I've travelled so far
To change this lonely life

I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is
I know you can show me

I'm gonna take a little time
A little time to look around me
I've got nowhere left to hide
It looks like love has finally found me

In my life there's been heartache and pain
I don't know if I can face it again
I can't stop now, I've travelled so far
To change this lonely life

I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is
I know you can show me

I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
And I wanna feel, I want to feel what love is
And I know, I know you can show me

Let's talk about love
I wanna know what love is, the love that you feel inside
I want you to show me, and I'm feeling so much love
I wanna feel what love is, no, you just cannot hide
I know you can show me, yeah

I wanna know what love is, let's talk about love
I want you to show me, I wanna feel it too
I wanna feel what love is, I want to feel it too
And I know and I know, I know you can show me
Show me love is real, yeah
I wanna know what love is...

I think Foreigner were bordering on being uncool until "that" scene brought them a whole new legion of fans. You're right, however it was chosen, "I Want To Know What Love Is " fitted just perfectly.

If ever I hear it now, not while watching the movie, I just have to turn the volume up at that certain point. :D

I'm not a fan of Journey but I think the song worked so well because it was like serendipity... the sort of thing that might be playing on late night radio that the guy would be listening to but also worked out for the girls. If he'd used something more in line with some of the rest of the soundtrack then it wouldn't have felt as real.

Anyway not to derail the poetry thread too much but here's another Journey song sung by board fave Ellen Page (along with Alia Shawkat from Arrested Development, etc. and some fat guy I don't know).

I actually enjoyed that clip. I don't know what it says about my musical tastes, but for an obviously amateur production it sounded pretty good, and of course it's not hurt by Ellen being very cute.

We haven't had this thread up in a while.

I just got reminded today *:|* of why I love this song so much :Y Biatch!!!

All that and its the closing music to the second film in the 'Ginger Snaps'' trilogy'.

''BEAUTIFUL'' by Joydrop

If i was beautiful like you
oh the things i would do
those not so blessed would
be crying out murder
and i'd just laugh and
get away with it too
like you do

if i was beautiful like you
i would never be at fault
i'd walk in the rain
between the raindrops
bringing traffic to a halt

but that would never be
that would never never be
'cause i'm not beautiful like you
IM BEAUTIFUL LIKE ME
BEAUTIFUL LIKE ME

if i was beautiful like you
i'd be quick to assume
they'd do anything to please me why not
i see their reaction when
you walk into the room

but that would never be
that would never never be
'cause i'm not beautiful like you
IM BEAUTIFUL LIKE ME
BEAUTIFUL LIKE ME
BEAUTIFUL LIKE ME
like me
like me

if i was beautiful like you i'd
have so many friends
all fighting for my time
to be next in line
so if i hurt one i wouldn't
have to make amends

but that would never be
that would never never be
'cause i'm not beautiful like you
im not beautiful like you
im not beautiful like you
IM BEAUTIFUL LIKE ME
BEAUTIFUL LIKE ME
IM BEAUTIFUL LIKE ME
IM BEAUTIFUL LIKE ME

Not to overdo the word but that's a beautiful, sad song. :(
