If I didn't watch the news or go on the net, I would - other than it raining a lot the last week - only even know there was anything major going on because the shopping centre was shut today. We are, as yet, mercifully untouched. Let's hope it stays that way.

Just by way of comparison here is a map of Europe inside a map of Australia.

Australia is big. Very big.
Imagine an area from say, Eire to Austria to the south of Italy to Portugal.
This is where Australia's deserts are.
Most of Australia's coastline from the tropics in the North to the cool temperate zones in the South get enough water, in the case of the tropics, sometimes too much.
The main snowfields are in the mountains between Sydney and Melbourne, and also in the high country in Tasmania.

Plenty of variety in Australia, you just have to go a long way to get anywhere. :P 8)

I went outside this morning and there was water on the ground.
Almost like it had been raining.

Less than 1mm so far but I guess even Townsville had to start somewhere. #chatchinguptoTownsville *:)*

Hope you're still safe Ian. ^O^

Sounds much better now.
Lots of drying out and some repairing of damage.
Hope the recovery goes smoothly.

I think Adelaide's given up the chase at one mm. #chatchinguptoTownsville
How embarrassing. :T

It's a beautiful place.
Much that is wild and hard and gentle and soft.

Should be on everyone's bucket list.

To make a long boring story even longer and more boring;
A couple of weeks ago my desk lamp broke its leaning over thing.
Thought I'll get around to buying a new one soon.
Then the leaning over thing went so far as to come to rest on my keyboard.
While it was switched on.
And I wasn't there.
Melted keys. :r
Bought a new lamp. :D
And a new keyboard. :x
Which refused to w*rk.
I got my tech guy to come and have a look at it. :W $$$$$$$
He said go buy another one and send this one back 'cause it's faulty.
So I went and bought a very low-tech keyboard which seems to w*rk perfectly. :D

And that's my excuse. :T

I am also angry with the Mac keyboard. Each keypad is worth $ 100 and is spoiled very often.
Finally I also bought a lowcost, the keys sometimes do not respond but I've gotten tired of apple.

I've never owned a Mac.
My low tech keyboard cost $16 which I thought was fair. *:)*
