I think Australian Rules Football really is the most exciting sport in the world, and, being from Adelaide I support the Adelaide Crows.
This year it's the inaugural season for the national Women's League competition with the grand final being played yesterday between the top two teams.
A great game between Brisbane and Adelaide at the Gold Coast near Brisbane, won by Adelaide by a mere six points.

Every sport has it's stars, but the number of "super-stars" is very small.
Erin Phillips is an out and out "super-star" and received the medal for best player on the ground in the final.
What a champion.

Erin with the twins she shares with her wife Tracy fitting into the premiership cup. *:)* *:)*

Figuring out what a Knuckleball Catcher is...in a Townes van Zant song, ably delivered by David and the Queen;

I used to bowl lots of knuckle balls when I played cricket.
Not on purpose.
I just didn't know how hold the ball properly to be a faster bowler. :oops: :lol:

I hadn't thought of that. :lol:

Wonderful. The womb of all matter in this galaxy...not visible from my latitude, a pity, but always nice to see.

The Spitzer infra-red image of the Core is quite something too, at a light-year per pixel;
you might have to r/clk and View Image to see it all.

Magnificent on a truly grand scale.

I'm an astronomy lover from way back but my telescope is not big enough to do justice to most things in they sky.
Some nice views of Saturn is about the best I can manage.

(not my pic)

I wonder if the new "get tough" parking policy is having the desired effect. :lol:

I'm putting it off.
Second rate system imposed by a second rate PM in my opinion.
FTTP as originally proposed would have given us the speeds we really wanted.

I've no doubt I'll wind up getting it at some stage but I just want to complain loudly about it first. :x :lol:

:lol: We don't seem to have much choice in the matter either way!
So far it seems exactly the same speed as it was before, tbh! :roll: :P

Australians to remake Icelandic award winning film

Image

WestEnd Films is set to embark on an English-language remake of “Rams,” part of a new co-production partnership WestEnd has signed with Australia’s WBMC. The original “Rams,” a hit Icelandic film about two long-estranged brothers in a remote valley who must reconcile in order to save their sheep, won Un Certain Regard’s top prize at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. The remake will be adapted by Australian screenwriter Jules Duncan and will shoot in Western Australia. It is the first collaboration between WestEnd and WBMC under a newly announced strategic partnership, which calls on the two companies to develop and produce new feature films and television projects. The deal will give WestEnd a first-look option to co-finance and sell projects from the WBMC slate as well as co-develop and co-produce new material, while offering WBMC access to additional financing and international distribution for its projects.
