Postby Rebecka Fan » Wed Aug 05, 2009 4:15 am

If you could pick 5 shows that you would love to see back on the air (with new episodes), which would you pick?

Here's my list:

1. American Dreams
2. Joan of Arcadia
3. Another World
4. Santa Barbara
5. Woopi (2003)
*Kyle*
I'm a Guy Directioner.

Mm, tough one, this. Assuming we're talking fantasy land where the same actors and creative teams could be magically reassembled with no dropouts, then:

1 Buffy
2 Angel
3 Friends
4 Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
5 The X Files

I can see why.

Yes, DTDD would be further down my list too, fish. Absolute class, that show. I do miss it. Can't believe it's over a decade since it ended.

Can't believe It's over a decade since FÅ was made either. Quick, warm up the Tardis.

You know they're really aliens giving you secret orders to destroy the world.
I mean you do know that, don't you?

I hope that's because you had a thing for one of the actresses... :r

I'd say:

1) Arrested Development - loved pretty much everything about this
2) Veronica Mars - best season of tv ever
3) South of Nowhere - kind of like 90210 except with lesbians
4) Firefly - i'm not a fan of tv space shows but liked this because it focused on people and not technology
5) Buffy/Angel/Dead Like Me - blatantly cheating of course...

TV shows have a pretty limited time when they're at their creative peak so it's really only shows that get cut off before they have a chance that bother me much. Buffy ending after 7 didn't bother me as much as Veronica Mars after 1. OK, I know there were 3 seasons of VM and I even have the second one on DVD because someone got it for me but I'm pretending those last 2 didn't happen.

I liked Friends, sorry.

Dammit, I left out Arrested Development, though! There's always one...

Never really took to Firefly, myself. I would have said Dead Like Me too, but after that recent hideous telemovie, I'm thinking it would be best to leave it well enough alone now... :r

Hee. :D

Early episodes weren't bad but it slid into caricature fairly quickly and that's something I hate; I like characters in shows I watch to be multi-dimensional. I don't really watch all that much TV so if I'm going to be watching a show then it better be worth it and not just something I'm doing for the sake of nostalgia.

I like how Whedon does characters so it got me over the space show icky. Except for dollhouse which I've only seen one episode of, but the characters are given new personalities every episode so it's kind of a conundrum, like how are you supposed to develop empathy for someone who's devoid of their own distinct personality. Of course maybe this is explained if you watch more than one episode.

I actually seriously considered leaving DLM off and if it hadn't been for that DVD then it would have ranked much better but I'm just pretending that never happened. Wonderfalls and Pushing Daisies were also don't by the DLM creator and they were pretty good (and also canceled before their time).

I haven't seen any Dollhouse yet, it's on pay TV over here (of course  ). I'll probably get it when it comes on dvd, though. Have to give it a try given that it's Joss. :D
