OMFG! something actually exciting is actually happening *:)* It looks like a continental market, maybe the same street market that was here a coupla weeks ago. The citizens of Amal get to taste kangaroo burgers and experiment with wierd German sausages

I think you might find the dolphins are actually salmon fishy :D It's the other thing Amal is famous for, and there's even a salmon on the town coat of arms. :Y

Around 09:15 on a Sunday morning and Åmål must have partied itself stupid yesterday because there's not a lot of action this morning. I guess the cleanup trucks (or should that be Kleerup?) have hosed away the mess and gone home to sleep it all off by now. :r
I have this theory......In a last ditch bid to save the town's finances the powers that be in Åmål have sold the flågs and the water in the dolphin (also now known as salmon  ) pool, and used the money to pay for yesterday's market celebrations, hoping to get all the big bucks from those rich tourists from Säffle, Bengtsfors and Mellerud.

Sure hope it worked. *:|*

It's been weeks since they had the party twinkly lights all along the riverbank, they must be economisering. It was Diwali last night but no celebration in Amal. I bet they don't even put up Xmas decorations this year.

A sunny day today for Åmal. People on bikes and strolling by. Decent weather at last!

10:15 Monday Morning.
Åmål looks beautiful.
Sun shining, people walking around and riding bikes.
Even the (OK, I'm ready to concede that they're) salmon look in need of some water.
Looks nice and warm......
......until you see that everyone's wearing a thick jacket and a wooly tea cosy on their heads.
Winter must come early so far from the equator.

First warm days of spring in Adelaide.
Around 26 - 27 C forecast for the next few days.
Eat your hearts out Åmålians. :P

19.00 Amal time. All is well but you never can tell. Apparently it's ''Grab a Grannie'' night *:)* down at the 'Salmon and Cucumber' pub. They're complaining ''Too many salmon. Not enough cucumbers!" I've heard that they want to have a videolink set-up with Adelaide  Your luck could be in fishy!

I love Grab a Grannie night down at the Lamb & Gherkin. *:)*

The video link looked a bit expensive so we just exchanged still photos. No one could tell the difference. :P *:)*

Heading towards 11:00 on a gray old Tuesday in Åmål.
Still no flags for the flagpoles.
Still no water for the salmon.
A big bunch of people just walked past in their thick jackets and their tea cosies.
If not gloves then hands in pockets.

I guess Tuesday mornings are not the most exciting of times. *:|*

I guess the big street fest the other day didn't raise enough $$$$$ to repair the webcam. :x

Most of the rest of Sweden's webcams seem to be suffering too, even the tigercams are acting up. Ten cams, half not w*rking, hardly any tigers. :| *:|*

Oh I see. I didn't think tigers were native to Sweden. :T The Amalcam is still screwed. Perhaps some pigeon did a big dollop on it :?

Until someone buys a ladder and fixes Åmål-cam we'll just have to make do with this. :(

Maybe the cam-blackout happens because they know we're making fun of their place? :?
Are we suddenly so important? Or maybe just so obnoxious ? :D

If ever any visitors to the site assumed we were perfectly normal, and NOT unhealthily obsessed, this thread alone should be enough to convince them otherwise.

 :P
