Oh they are really good. I've seen most of them one time or another on video etc. I don't like PD James as a person, but as a writer, her characterisation and knowledge kicks ass, and Dalgleish is a much easier character to warm to, than say Morse or Wycliffe. I love the way she has of setting everyone up as a potential suspect, very Agatha Christie style, and doing ''double murders'', when the person YOU suspect gets bumped off
I think ''Death Of an Expert Witness'' was one of the first to be made for TV and has superb casting and well vaguely lesbian undertow
. I also remember ''Cover Her Face'' as it featured the gorgeous Kim Thomson, one of the most beautiful and talented natural redheads to make it as an actor
