You know, it isn't the sheer number of fests. It isn't all the presents that have to be bought. It isn't all the drink. It isn't even the thoughtlessness of those people who choose to have birthdays at this time of the year as well.
It's the mountains of food that people force upon me that really makes me wish for February.
I'm definitely moving to a different planet next year.

4:45 pm on New Years Day and it's big wind and rain here too. But ours is the leftovers of an ex-tropical cyclone which hit the NW a couple of days ago. Very humid and still 33°C.
URGH! That definitely trumps my weather whinge. At least when it's cold and wet you can stay warm and dry indoors at a sensible temp...but from high humidity and 33C there is no escape [bar very efficient/expensive aircon maybe?].
Never mind the wardrobe, I'd be hiding in the fridge!
