I miss seeing the salmon in the fountain though. :P

Lovely to see Åmål again.
I'll have to check out the web-cam more often, I think. :D

The citizen of Åmål tried to profit from it, but only after being unable to have the title changed

from Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Show_Me_Love_%28film%29
Even before the film was completed, it created controversy in the town of Åmål itself. Local politicians campaigned to get the title of the film changed because they argued that it would show the town in an unfair way, and even undermine the town as an economic centre. Further pressure was brought on the makers of the film, the Film i Väst film studio, who are partly financed by Swedish local authorities, including Åmål. However, the local complaints had no effect on the content or release of the film. Since the release of the film the town of Åmål has even tried to embrace the publicity generated, despite the fact that the town's name is missing from the English title. Still, in the early 2000s the town founded the pop music festival "Fucking Åmål Festival".

.....but remeber that the title in many foreign countries was changed because FA seemed too rude.
In most english speaking countries it's Show me love.
In Germany it was called raus aus Åmål (away from...)
In France it remained Fucking Åmål
In Italy the title was Fucking Åmål - Il coraggio di amare (FA - the courage to love)

I think Lukas put the name of Amal because resemble " Anal " and give him publicity.

I 'm sure half the people of Amal think differently of other half. You know if this is true?

This issue has already been discussed. Of Thousands of villages in Sweden, chose this village? Why?
The controversy and provocation have always helped many projects such as music and films.

But back to the beginning. like the name of the movie, To The People from Amal, ?

No, mine neither. :?

I do know from reports there was resistance to the use of the name Åmål before wiser heads saw the chance to benefit the town from the publicity.
Fair enough too.
By taking that advantage they've helped perpetuate the "Fucking Åmål" story. *:)*

Sometimes in other countries or different continents.
