In Barcelona, I met Rita a girl from Tasmania by Erasmus.
She was very rare and it was also small.

Beautiful weather outside today! Both sunny and calm.
Whatever. We'll go there and burn the house down. Come on. Please...

Living close to the sea has its downsides too, it is more often than not really windy outside.
Whatever. We'll go there and burn the house down. Come on. Please...

Not exactly near my house.
This was taken recently in the South Australian Outback, about 1,500 kms to the north west of my place.
Not many sealed roads up here, but there are camels.
Imported to Aus in the 1800's before trains and motor vehicles arrived to service the outback towns.
Set free when they were no longer needed, and they thrived.
I've never seen a wild camel in all of my travels, but they are of such a pure strain that Aus now exports breeding camels to the Middle East.
Apparently there are many tens of thousands of them.

Dash cam vid from an SA Police vehicle.
(Mildly hypnotic.  )

Interesting! You guys appear to have quite the history of importing and establishing animals to places that aren't their natural habitats.

That gif almost have a seamless loop to it. :-)

True, and most of them are "nasties".
Pigs, goats, cats, dogs, rats, mice, rabbits, bloody cane toads, and more.
Camels are about the least harmful to our native species.

Individually some of these appear quite cute and harmless, except cane toads. :r
But when there are millions of them, they are a real pest.

Over the last couple of hundred years Australians have been very stupid people when it comes to this sort of thing. :T

Last weekend.
The small town of Goolwa, about 100 kms south of Adelaide.
The Southern Ocean, near the mouth of the River Murray.
Looking west at sunset.

Not bad, not bad at all. *:)*

It's a lovely place for a few days away from home. *:)*

I found this Aurora Australis vid.
Taken in Tasmania, a lot further south than Adelaide.
Gorgeous. Image

That would've been a truly stunning view in real life.
