The ‘Rams’ English-language remake has its Australian castFish and Ian look forward to many many rehearsalsThe hit Icelandic film Rams is being remade in Australia, and the cast has now been announced. Australian actors Fish and Ian will star as the estranged brothers and farmers forced to work together after a crisis hits their farms. Jeremy Sims will direct the film and Jules Duncan has written the adaptation. The original film, which is directed and written by Grimur Hakonarson, won the Un Certain Regard at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. The Australian version of Rams is currently filming in Western Australia.
“This is a story about family, connected through land and community, and the relationships at the heart of those communities,” Sims told Variety. “Regional Western Australia is a vast and complex place, and the Great Southern has such a unique flavour that audiences deserve to see it on the big screen.”
No release date has been announced.
