Just started reading a few reviews as I'd never heard of them, or Stieg Larsson for that matter. The trilogy sounds brilliant.

I'll keep doing research on them all and I'm sure the novels are available but being a visual kind of person I'd really like to see them on film.

Does anyone else know why Sweden is particular should seem to be so well placed. Is crime fiction reading a popular pastime there? Is crime a commonplace recreation? any recommended authors or titles?

I don't read crime fiction myself, and I don't know why there's so much of it right now. But maybe there's some sort of wave going on?

And apparently the books are considered good enough to be released in other countries.

Another successful swedish crime writer is Jens Lapidus, don't know if his books have been translated yet. They're already making a film version of his first novel anyway.

I believe a film version of 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" ''Män som hatar kvinnor'' was released in Feb this year. Anyone seen it?

Not seen it, but it got good reviews here in Sweden.

However Noomi Rapace herself didn't think the film lived up to expectations, so I don't know

I see all three films have been completed so I'm wondering what the chances are of a "three-pack" release on dvd soon. The three books are on Amazon UK but I can't find any sign of the films.
Anyone seen them somewhere I've missed?

Thats a long title. No I don't know it but if I tap my feet you can whistle it  No I didn't know that but I shall have to investigate that.

Do you have the ''Mastermind" quiz prog in Oztralia? Seriously you could go on it. Our next contender is fish whose specialist subject is ''Fucking Amal and all who sail in her" :D

You've got me intrigued with this trilogy, (especially the references to Lisbeth Salander). Please keep us up to date with your opinions as you read on.

In the meantime, being the visual creature that I am, I'll keep looking for the movies on dvd.
